Adding domain services

A service is an IP/host, port and protocol combination that accepts client requests.  A service created at the Domain-level is used by User accounts created within the specific Domain.

 

Note: Global services also support some protocols. See Adding Global Services

 

To view existing services for a Domain, click Domains, select the desired Domain, then navigate to the SERVICES > Listeners module.  A list of services displays.

Below you will find a description of the columns in the Listeners grid.

 

Protocol — Identifies the service protocol. Available protocols are AFTP, Agent, AS2, FTP/S, HTTP/S, OFTP2, SFTP/SCP, TFTP, and WebDAV/S.

 

Host/IP — Identifies the IP address where the service listens.

 

Port — Identifies the port used for communication.

 

Key — Identifies the encryption key the service uses for encrypted communications.

 

Details — Identifies additional details for the service.

 

Service types

 

AFTP — Accelerated File Transfer Protocol developed by JSCAPE. It runs on top of the UDP protocol. It provides fast file transfers over networks with high latency or packet loss characteristics.

 

Agent — Accepts connections from remotely installed MFT Server Agents.

 

AS2 — Accepts incoming AS2 messages.

 

FTP regular — Accepts standard unencrypted FTP connections.

 

FTP explicit SSL — Accepts both standard unencrypted FTP connections and encrypted explicit SSL connections using AUTH TLS or AUTH SSL client commands.

 

FTP forced explicit SSL — Accepts only encrypted explicit SSL connections using AUTH TLS or AUTH SSL client commands.

 

FTP implicit SSL — Accepts only encrypted implicit SSL connections.

 

HTTP/S — Accepts HTTP and/or encrypted HTTPS connections.

 

OFTP2 -— Accepts incoming Odette File Transfer Protocol (OFTP2) connections.

 

SFTP/SCP — Accepts encrypted SFTP (FTP over SSH) connections and Secure Copy (SCP).

 

TFTP - Accepts Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) connections.

 

WebDAV/S — Accepts WebDAV connections.

Edit service

 

To edit a service, select the service you wish to edit and click Edit.

 

Delete service

 

To delete a service, select the service you wish to delete and click Delete.
