File/Directory Trigger Actions

This chapter describes some of the File and Directory Trigger Actions.

File and directories specified in this category of Trigger Actions must be accessible to the MFT Server system.  See the details below.

MFT Server installed on a Windows system can access:

  • Its local files and directories. For example - C:\MFTServer\MonitorDir

  • Files and directories accessible to MFT Server via a Windows UNC share. For example - \\winservername\sharename

  • Files and directories accessible to MFT Server via a Linux/Unix Samba share. For example - \\linuxservername\sharename

MFT Server installed on a Linux/Unix system can access:

  • Its local file and directories. For example - /MFTServer/MonitorDir

  • Files and directories accessible to MFT Server via a Linux/Unix mounted NFS client. For example - /mnt/nfs_client

  • Files and directories accessible to MFT Server via a Linux/Unix Samba share. For example - /mnt/smbshare.

Note: The Browse feature used to select a path to populate an Action's Target field is not supported when specifying a Samba or Windows share. You must manually enter the share name in the desired field.
